Side Part Bob Haircut Inspiration

It is officially the year of the bob (specifically, the side part bob) hair cut. More people than ever are booking in for a chop at their local salon and we’re seeing more iterations of the traditional style every day. Earlier this year, we saw the chic French girl bob sweep our social media feeds, loved for being low maintenance yet endlessly chic.

More recently, we’ve seen the ‘boy band bob’ (i.e. a bob with longer pieces in the front that hit right around the cheekbones – don’t worry, you won’t look like a member of Backstreet Boys, promise) as well as the clavicle-skimming ‘collarbone bob’, which is a great compromise for those who don’t fancy taking too many inches off their length.

That’s not all. There’s also the sliced bob, blunt bobs, shaggy bobs and the paper-cut bob, the micro bob and the asymmetrical bob to choose from.

Once you have decided on your bob style, it’s time to choose where to put your parting. While Gen Z have spent the past two years mocking Millennials for their love of side parts, we still maintain that there’s something oh-so-cool about a side-parted bob. It’s nonchalant, edgy and flattering and unlike a centre parting or a fringe, a side parting suits all face shapes and can help to frame the features. 

Plus, the side part bob is also exceptionally versatile. It looks equally as good flipped over to one side with tousled waves as it does slicked down with a wet look finish. Plus, it’s incredibly low maintenance, making it one of our favourite options out of all the many, many bob trends.
