The Academy Museum Gala may have just become one of fashion’s biggest nights.
On October 15, the cream of the Hollywood crop arrived on the white carpet in Los Angeles for the second-annual Academy Museum Gala to celebrate America’s largest museum devoted to the history and cultural impact of filmmaking. From Mindy Kaling to Ava DuVernay to Kerry Washington, some of the biggest names in the industry arrived in their best black tie ensembles to celebrate honorees like Julia Roberts, who was presented with the Icon Award by George Clooney, and Tilda Swinton, who received this year’s Visionary Award in a stunning dress by Schiaparelli.
Sheer gowns remained one of the biggest trends of the night, with Olivia Wilde taking home the figurative prize for the boldest see-through look of the night while actors like Emma Stone, Alexandra Daddario, and Glenn Close chose subtle ways to incorporate the style. Selena Gomez, however, surprised by arriving in a classic black suit by Giorgio Armani.
Without further ado, here are all the best looks from the 2022 Academy Museum Gala.
