How to Find TikTok Videos You’ve Already Watched

Need to find a video you watched on TikTok but can’t remember who posted it? No problem; with a few simple steps, you can locate any video you’ve watched in the past, even if you don’t remember what it was called.

We’ll cover how to find TikTok videos, even if you don’t remember anything about them. Let’s get started.

How to Find a TikTok Video You Watched

Finding TikTok videos that you’ve already seen is easy. All you need to do is use a simple search filter.

  1. Go to the Discover tab.
  2. Press the Search icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Type in your query.
  4. Press Search.
  5. Tap the Filters icon on the search bar’s right-hand side.
  6. Toggle on Watched Videos.
  7. Press Apply.

Any videos in your watch history that match your keyword or keyphrase will be at the top of the list, followed by your search results as they would usually appear.

TikTok filters can be used for more than just filtering search results by watch history—you can also search for Liked Videos or even add an upload date cut-off to limit your pool further.

Now, you’ll be able to find anything that you’ve accidentally tapped away from with ease.

How to See Your Watch History on TikTok

One of the best TikTok beginner tips is to see everything that you’ve watched. However, there’s a catch: only iOS users can access this feature. If you’re on an Android device, you’ll have to make do with the workaround (more on that later).

How to View Your TikTok Watch History on iOS

To access your watch history on your iPhone on iPad:

  1. Open TikTok and head to the Profile tab.
  2. Press the three-line hamburger menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings and privacy.
  4. Tap Watch history under the Content and activity heading.

From here, you can see everything you’ve watched in the last seven days. If you want to clear your watch history, simply tap the gear icon in the top-right corner and select clear history.

How to View Your TikTok Watch History on Android

Unlike on iOS, there’s no handy feature within the Android app to view your watch history. You can, however, request your full TikTok timeline as a personal data request and find the data within.

It takes a couple of days, but this is the most thorough approach at your disposal for a truly complete TikTok history view.

To do this:

  1. Open TikTok and head to the Profile tab.
  2. Press the three-line hamburger menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings and privacy.
  4. Tap Privacy.
  5. Select Download your data.
  6. Choose either a TXT file or a JSON file.
  7. Tap the Request Data button at the bottom.

Once you’ve done this, you can check out your pending data request in the neighboring Download Data tab, which you can access at the top of this page.

In no more than four days’ time, you’ll be able to download everything associated with your account, including your TikTok watch history. Once your request has been approved, you’ll need to verify your identity before the ZIP file can truly be yours.

Once it’s ready, the ZIP folder should include a file called Video Browsing History—obviously, that’ll be the one you’re looking for. You’ll find everything that you’ve watched before on the platform, perfect for finding something that you remember from a while back.

This approach doesn’t offer the most up-to-date glimpse into your TikTok video history. Still, it’s the best way to recall something truly unforgettable.

Your TikTok Watch History: Uncovered

Whether you want to remember something from the past or keep tabs on what you’re watching, your TikTok watch history can be invaluable.

Now that you know how to access and use it, you can make the most of the feature to improve your TikTok experience. And, if you’re on Android, you can at least get a pretty good idea of everything you’ve watched before.
