It was a week of beginnings. The new David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center held an opening night gala on Oct. 26 with a lively concert that featured Alicia Keys, Renée Fleming, Vanessa Williams and the New York Philharmonic. Mayor Eric Adams gave opening remarks at the cocktail reception, which was followed by a dinner that took over two tiers.
The American Ballet Theater ushered in a new era with a performance of Christopher Rudd’s “Lifted” and a black-tie dinner attended by leading figures in the worlds of dance, fashion, entertainment and philanthropy. And “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” had its New York premiere on Tuesday night, followed by a party at the Peak Restaurant, which hovers 101 stories above Hudson Yards. Also on Tuesday, Glamour hosted its annual Women of the Year Award at the Grill and the Pool.
